Velator

Ringing this morning was disappointing (specially compared to Lundy!) Only 2 Willow Warblers, 2 Blackcaps, and a Chiffchaff the only migrants caught, unless the male Blackcap ringed last April has been off to Africa since I last saw him! His plumage was certainly pretty bleached-looking. A female Cetti's Warbler was a treat, as was hearing the first Reed Warbler, which stayed in deep cover. The only other bird of note was the strange-sounding Duck that departed before dawn - I'll listen to my tapes and see if I can identify it.
