Cattle Egret Seaton Marshes And Beer Head Totals

A Cattle Egret flew south west over Blackhole Marsh mid morning. It remained on view from Seaton Marshes for most of the day, seen with cattle both north and south of the reserve.

My migrant totals for Beer Head 06:00 - 09:20 are as follows:

61 Yellow Wags, 18 alba Wags, 9 Tree Pipits, 48+ Wheatear, 1 Whinchat, 2 Garden Warbler, 8+ Blackcap, 4 Whitethroat, 1 Sedge Warbler, 37+ Willow Warbler, 6 Chiffchaff, 1 Pied Fly and 3 Spot Flies.

Beer Head

Good scattering of migrants this morning. My counts as follows:

24 Wheatears, 16 Yellow Wags, 23 Willow Warblers, 4 Blackcaps, 2 Grey Wags, 17 Chiffs, 2 Spotted Flycatchers, 5 Whitethroats, and 3 Garden Warblers.

Many more Yellow Wagtails, plus several Tree Pipits, were seen before I arrived. I also missed a Redstart.

Black Hole Marsh This Evening

1 juv Spotted Redshank
10 Green Sands (+ 2 Wood Sands at Colyford Marsh)
40 Dunlin, 35 Ringed Plovers, 7 Black-tailed Godwits
1 Barn Owl patrolling the southern embankment around 20:00

Minimum of 8 Yellow Wags

No sign of any stints.
