Witheridge Moor

Visit today 11-00 to 12-30

An unusual number of birds on or over the Moor comprising of :-

5 Siskin, 2 Raven, 22 Meadow Pipit, 11 Skylark, 22 Redpoll (possible the largest flock seen on Moor), 2 Nuthatch, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, 80+ Starling, 13 Redwing (first of Winter), Buzzard, Kestrel, 4 Reed Bunting, and a pair of Stonechat (first since Dec 2009 - a result of the last two hard Winters). Surprisingly there were no Linnets. Also seen was a very worn Red Admiral and a Fox Moth caterpillar.
