Exminster Marshes

An immature Spoonbill flew from the lagoon towards Exeter and M5 at 10.30. The bird had pronounced black tips to the wings, a pale bill but very dark/black legs. Wigeon numbers slightly up (40) and 29 shoveller on the lagoon. Also one tufted duck asleep. Two wheatears nearer the canal and I had  my best view of a Cettis for a long time, about 50m south of the canal-side car park on the cycle track.

At mid-day I did look in briefly at Matford Pools to see if the spoonbill had landed there. No sign and the pools are very low. Only managed to see a few teal.
