Barnstaple long bridge 14:30
Walking into town over the Long bridge this afternoon there was an interesting Grebe in the water on the park side of the bridge . Black head with white neck, black back and grey lowers, looked distinctly bigger than a Little Grebe - must have been a Slavonian or Black-necked I guess (purely on size I would plump for Slavonian). When walking back over the bridge it had gone from that side anyway. Maybe worth any Barnstaple birders (Maurice!) keeping their eyes peeled tomorrow.
