Trenchford, Tottiford and Kennick Reservoirs, Nr. Christow

3 Hour walk around the reservoirs this AM in order to reconoitre for the DBWPS fieldtrip (East Devon Branch), this Friday.  Plenty of warblers present (mainly Willow and Blackcap, with smaller numbers of Chiffchaff ) and a very obliging Garden Warbler seen at close quarters.  A party of six Crossbill flew over, also Siskin. A pair of Coot on Kennick Res. have produced 5 young but a pair of Mallard only had one duckling.  Two fine Gt Crested Grebe present on Tottiford Res.  Bullfinch, Gt Spotted Woodpecker and Goldcrest heard.
