Exminster Marshes

The redhead Smew was on the Exeter Canal c.150m above Turf but was flushed by a dog, and flew onto the main lagoon at 1320hrs. The ringtail Hen Harrier was quartering the marshes north of Lions Rest Estate from about 1335hrs onwards. A Bittern was watched flying into a thin stand of reeds near the fishermans' car park at the end of Swans Nest Lane at 1253hrs, but was not visible afterwards!
