A visit to dawlish warren this morning got me good views of the Surf Scoter and eventually the velvet scoter with 4 common scoter all from the lifequard lookout. Also on the sea were 1 red throated diver and lots of razorbills and a few guilemots, at leat 5 great crested grebes and the male eider was with 2 female eider. A couple of rock pipits were on the rocks in front of the seawall.
From the hide on the rising tide the American wigeon showed well with at least 2 sanderling amongst the dunlin with 15+ knot and good numbers of grey plover, 2 razorbill and at least 15+ red breasted mergansers,
14 ringed plover were in the bight, 12+ skylark, 2 stonechat, on the pond were 1 snipe and 2 little grebes
Exminster marshes this afternoon got great views of the Glossy Ibis and the barnacle goose was in with the canada geese
