Exminster marshes

Day started well with 2 kestrels and a merlin hunting over the fields by the swans nest pub on station road on the fist scrape were 34 golden plover, 1 grey plover, 1 snipe, 2 spotted redshanks,250+ lapwing, 42 bar tailed godwit, 600+ black tailed , 2 knot, 5 Dunlin, 2 shoveler 140+ wigeon. In with the Canada geese was 1 barnacle goose but no sign of the red breasted goose, 1 cetti's warbler calling and 1 peregrine flew over causing panic amongst the waders also 6 reed bunting

Up at turf on the mud as the tide dropped 250+ avocet, 1200+ Dunlin, 37 grey plover

On the walk back along the canal to Exeter 25+ Siskin, 2 chiffchaff, 2 cetti's warbler, 3 reed bunting, 2 redpoll, 5 redwing, 2 groups of long tailed tit and several goldcrests

The black swan is still at the quay in Exeter and by the mill on the exe pub 2 grey wagtails and still 1 dipper showing well
