1600 - 1800 - trip up to search for pallid but found 3 hen harrier (ad male and 2 juv). All three showed on and off for two hours beneath the fort. Both juvs disconcertingly orangey beneath but that's where the similarity to pallid ended although one juv distinctly smaller and darker than the other. Also 1+ crossbill, several redpoll, siskin and meadow pipits and 1 snipe.
