Report of a Short-eared Owl yesterday(Monday) at the rear of Sharkham near Combelake, sat on a hedge then flushed by dog walkers.
On the subject of Short-toed Eagle, I recall there was a report of one seen over Prawle Wood in the early 1980s by the late Lawrence Price( who had seen them in Turkey/N Africa) ; similar date and conditions.I do0n't think he had a full set of field notes and the record did not go anywhere.
