Prawle

A good selection of birds today. Prawle's 6th Wryneck of the autumn was at Gammon Head (one reported yesterday on the coastpath at Prawle Point was presumably a different bird). 2 Hen Harriers graced the area, with a juvenile passing high over, and out to sea at 11.55, and a male quartering the Airfields this evening. The rest of the day's list comprised 200+ Swallows, 2 House Martins, 2 Grey Wagtails, 24 Wheatears, 2 Whinchats, 2 Common Redstarts, Black Redstart, 15 Siskin over (seen), with many others heard only, Coal Tit, 22 Blackcaps, Garden Warbler, Whitethroat, 64 Chiffchaffs, 11 Goldcrests and 3 Firecrests. Also today, a Clouded Yellow and 100's of Red Admirals.

Yesterday evening (1/10), single Merlin and Yellow Wagtail were recorded.
