Just add water. The ditches are full and there are wet flashes on the fields. So when the railway workers drove the birds from Bowling Green Marsh the birds flew here. I counted 484 black-tailed godwits and had not finished counting when crows caused a commotion and some moved. I guess there were well over 600 present. Also c250 curlew, 83 lapwing, 12 golden plovers, one dunlin and 83 avocets. The avocets were on the lagoon where the numbers of teal and coots appears to have fallen, I guess they have moved out onto the ditches and smaller pools. There were 102 wigeon, 12 gadwall, 3 greylag geese, one shelduck and a little grebe.
Very few passerines, one group of 8 skylarks and Cettis calling from 3 locations. Still no chiffchaffs.
