Exminster Marshes

A frustrating bit of bird-watching this morning. First was a medium sized wader (no white rump) that dropped into the edge of the lagoon from a great height and subsequently vanished. Next was a warbler that flew across the canal into the reeds and vanished - probably a reed warbler, size, colour looked right but you never know at this time of the year. It fanned out its tail in flight!

I had more luck with a common sandpiper at Turf, one wheatear on the marshes and 3 calling Cettis. Otherwise quiet but still lots of green finches in the bushes.
