About 11.00 on the main marsh - 1 green sandpiper flew from Powderham marshes onto the lagoon. A flock of 20 green finches near the railway was the largest flock for some time. At Turf there were more green finches and c600 starlings. A single common tern (juv) and one yellow wagtail flew over the canal. Elsewhere c3 blackcaps, a flock of 15+ long-tailed tits, 12 meadow pipits and a grey wagtail. A brief burst of song from a Cettis warbler was the first I have heard since the spring.
