A few hours before high water there were hundreds of black-headed gulls (guess at 500) All in adult plumage apart from 2 juveniles. Also 4 adult common gulls. Waders represented by about 60 curlew, one whimbrel and c40 oystercatchers. Nine common terns fed in mid channel but then rested on the sand.
