The pick of yesterday's birds were 2 Wood Warblers, feeding together beside the village pond - the earliest site record by 7 days. Elswhere, not great numbers but a nice variety. Totals as follows; Snipe (east), 20 Swallows, Sand Martin, 9 Wheatears (several 'Greenland' type - the pictured bird was by no means the brightest), Redstart (female), Lesser Redpoll (east), Grasshopper Warbler, Sedge Warbler, 11 Blackcaps, 5 Whitethroats, 15 Willow Warblers and 56 Chiffchaffs.
