Exminster marshes
Early morning 2 little ringed plovers close to the bend in the track. Soon joined by 9 ringed plovers (useful comparisons) and then by 12 dunlin. Elsewhere at the high tide roost 66 curlews and 14 black-tailed godwits and 6 whimbrel were the first to arrive. A single avocet flew around , over the roost and lagoon, calling. Shelduck numbers lower than yesterday when 87 were roosting. Still 3 gadwall, 12+ teal and 5 wigeon. A noticeable increase in singing reed and sedge warblers - and lots of territorial disputes.
