Goosander fest

Now 9 Goosanders (all redheads) on Beesands Ley this morning. Also 30 Pochard, 10 Gadwall but just a couple Tufted Duck. On the sea a Velvet Scoter flew north and there were also a couple each of Great Northern Diver and Slavonian Grebe.
Went around to Slapton Ley and looking at Ireland Bay from the mid-way car park saw another 9 Goosanders, definatly not the Beesands birds following me as one was a male. Just had time for a quick look at Start Bay from Torcross and in half an a hour 25 Common Scoter flew north and 11 unidentified divers ( including a flock of 8 ) heading south.
