Bullfinches, at least fifty five
Meadow Pipits, three
Mistle Thrushes, just two
Redwings (no Fieldfares), five
Siskins, six
Coal Tits, six
Marsh Tits (one is a delight on the canal!), four
Nuthatches, a
Water Rail, just one
Woodcock, a
Green Woodpecker, two
Reed Buntings and the star of the day, a
Common Gull!
Another canal birder, Ray Jones, came up with three nice
Lapwings, a
Siskin, four
Bullfinches, a few
Meadow Pipits and a couple of
Skylarks between Halberton and Sampford Peverell.
