Orcombe Point pre-breakfast

720-855am - golden plover 1+, snipe 1, redwing 32+, hirundine sp 25+ (house martin and swallow), wheatear 1+, ring ouzel (1 E at 727am - see photo), song thrush 2, mistle thrush 1, starling 7, siskin 2+, stonechat 3, chiffchaff 2, great spooted woodpecker 1 and grey wagtail 1+. There was a steady passage eastwards of finches, meadow pipits and skylarks which I didn't really get the chance to count. Apologies for the quality of the photograph but this is only my fourth on Orcombe Point and I was glad to get any shot at all!

Duck and geese numbers off Mudbank Lane appear to have increased this morning and the first six returning red-breasted mergansers were present along with two gadwall.
