Exminster Marshes

The number of coots has risen rapidly recently and today I counted 131. Also on the lagoon c20 shoveller, c30 teal and a few wigeon. At 09.30 a juv. goosander flew in and drank for a few minutes and then flew out to the north. It had quite pronounced markings between its bill and eye.

Elsewhere 1 wheatear, 8+ chiffchaffs and a few skylarks heard overhead. Local exotic waterfowl now include one barnacle goose, one black swan and a Canada goose that thinks it is a swan.
