Picked up a white winged gull amongst a feeding party of gulls between 2 day trawlers in the breakwater. Rushed back home to get my scope but couldn't relocate it so tried the fish market roofs. No luck. Mike called then to say Dave Leigh had located a Glaucous/Iceland gull on the breakwater! The bird was briefly sat on a bouy before moving off which gave the assembled onlookers little time to clinch the ID but having just spoke to Dave on phone he feels that the bird was more than likely an Iceland Gull.
Might be worth another look tomorrow?
