Early morning stroll. Cetti's warbler sang briefly from reeds by the edge of the racecourse. Four little egrets in Hackney Channel alongside a single redshank. Kingfisher perched momentarily by the shoreline. Tide reasonably well out, so birds rather distant - oystercatcher and curlew in small numbers, nine more little egrets plus numerous BH and herring gulls and a few lesser blacks (including a dead one). Smaller birds included groups of meadow pipits overhead, grey wagtails, and a couple of reed buntings in and out of the reeds adjacent the hotel.
