A plod round late this afternoon/evening produced the following selection spread between the marshes and estuary...
22 Black-tailed Godwits, 44 Dunlin, 4 Bar-tailed Godwits, 17 Ringed Plover, 1 Wheatear, 52 Canada Geese (an unwelcome record count for me), 3 Greenshank, 2 Common Sandpipers, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Curlew Sandpiper, 1 Little Stint, 1 Whimbrel, 4 Lapwing, 1 Ruff. Lots of hirundines spread up the valley.
Plenty of company there for a nice rare wader I thought...but not today.
