Chudleigh

After 15-20 cm of snow fell before dawn (to the accompaniment of thunder and lightening!), I was forced to spend the day watching birds in the garden. It proved worthwhile, as I notched up 18 species actually in the garden, including our first ever (2) Redwings. There were also 2 Fieldfare, Mistle Thrush, Pied Wagtail, Meadow Pipit and Blackcap (feeding on the ground). Sum total of the maximum counts was 92 birds, which included 30 Starlings, 14 Chaffinches, 12 House Sparrows and 10 Goldfinches.
