Spent several hours following a very mobile Great Grey Shrike on Aylesbeare Common this morning (Mon 18 Oct) that was reported over the weekend...but imagine my surprise when it settled on top of a tree next to a SECOND! As I watched them with Ian Pullan and Stan Davies my attention was diverted to two crows mobbing a raptor high up on the sky and we picked out the long tail, wings and white rump of a Hen Harrier! The Harrier flew off towards the west at height. Happy days!
(The pics I have taken were with a 10x compact and have been enhanced in size, so sorry about the poor quality! )
