This very striking juvenile Common Buzzard appeared today. The underside is extremely pale on this individual - especially in flight. It could quite easily be called something else! The Devon county recorders have had these pale juvs sent in as Gyrs, Ospreys, Honey-buzzards etc! Notice the pale iris showing its a juv, which darkens as they get older. Cracking bird though not a rarity!
